Leagoo M8 Pro - How to fix screen ghost touch problem

The problem

Ghost touch. The screen responds to presses that you're not actually making.

Failed attempts

• Drain the battery.
• Factory reset.
• Installed Custom ROM.
• Installed newest and older original firmware.
• Installed various antivirus programs.
• Froze the phone (yeap .. on the freezer for 15 mins).
• Tried various methods to remove static electricity.

Some of the above seemed to work, but only temporarily.

The cause

It's the digitizer. Many Leagoo M8/M8 Pro phones come with a defective digitizer. It can work perfectly for months and then start ghost touches with no reason at all.

What is a digitizer?

It's the front glass of the screen (not the protective film) that senses your finger touches.
On Leagoo you will find that the screen has 3 layers.

1. The protective film (it's on the digitizer).
2. The digitizer (this is the faulty part you have to replace).
3. The LCD Screen.

Solution

Replace the digitizer. I bought this one for under 5$ and it works perfectly

(Take it to a technician or replace it yourself if you can, Youtube has some videos on how to do it. Be carefull not to brake the screen. If you do brake the screen you can replace it with one liike this.)

Temporary solution

Install PARTIAL SCREEN app. It analyzes the screen and locks the area where ghost touches appear.
